Moving

In an effort to save time and sanity, I started a new blog that will document the whole family. For awhile now, I've juggled between Parker's and Colby's blogs... and its a LOT of work. Two kids doesn't just mean twice the blogs, it means half the available free time! So please follow us over there! Its

Tough call

I think one of the hardest parts of being a heart mom is the unknown. The second guessing of everything. When he's having a hard day, you don't know if teething, the reflux, or maybe somethings wrong with his heart or pacemaker. Like today. He was absolutely miserable, with a stuffy nose and a low-grade fever. We tried to suck out his nose, which promptly started gushing blood. This isn't the first time it has happened, either. And no matter how many times you google "nosebleed heart block infant dangerous?" you don't get any helpful info. All you can do is watch closely and pray that everything will be okay.

He's had such a rough day, I'm glad its over and the bleeding has stopped and sleep has taken over. Sleep tight bud.

Just a quick little video

Second child syndrome, I never take videos of Parker. Which is bizarre, I love seeing clips of Colby when he was a baby. But I discovered my camera can do video as well, so I was playing around with it. Parker is moving more, and wanting to catch the cats. I love how you can see the idea forming in his mind at 0:07, and then when Colby pips up "He's grabbin his tail!" how Parker looks at him like "Isn't that such a great idea???" at 0:16.

Hair!

As in, he has some! Not a lot, mind you. But I remember when I was in the middle of the c-section. I could tell the Dr could see the baby, because the first thing she said (before he even was out!) was "wow he's bald." And he was, for a very very VERY long time. I would put lotion in it to make it look darker, and constantly rub my hand backwards on his head to make anything stand up and look bigger than it was. But now, its visible! My husband was on the phone with me this morning, and I saw my son in the morning light, and nearly freaked out. Parker has EYEBROWS! When did that happen??? I had to take a picture. And lets just ignore the fact that I had to zoom way in to see it, okay? :)

Parker vs Peanut Butter and Jelly

To say that this kid loves food? That is an understatement. He will eat ANYTHING (even paper, but I digress). Every meal he sits begging for any scrap. He likes green olives, tomatoes, pickles, salsa... anything he can shove into his mouth. Usually we feed him little bits here and there. But yesterday, I gave him his own peanut butter and jelly. That seems so weird, because doctors were saying no peanut butter under 1, but now they want you to feed them pb so they don't develop an allergy. Bizarre. He was in absolute heaven though. He got to be a big kid, and he actually got a full meal instead of just little bites. My little guy is just growing up!

8 Months Old!

Parker turned 8 months old today! He is just so adorable. Every day I look at him and think of how lucky I am to have him.

So here's some things about Parker!

He's got his first tooth!

His smile is so big and his mouth is so small it sticks out like a sore thumb. A stinkin' cute sore thumb :)

He is nowhere near crawling. Like, not even thinking about it.

He's still waking up twice a night. Not my favorite feature.

He is so happy to see everyone. His face lights up when anyone talks to him.

He's pulling up whenever he can. He loves taking steps while holding onto our fingers, he usually falls down because he's giggling so hard.

He loves his sippy cup. And his binky.

He sleeps on his tummy now.

He loves food. Oh boy, can this little guy eat. I call him my little moocher, because he has to eat whatever I'm eating. His favorite surprise was broccoli, he loved that!

Health-wise, he's doing fine. The pacemaker is working well. They are worried about his weight a little bit, because he's so small. But I think he's growing on his own little curve. :)

We are so happy to have our little Parker Bean! I doubt there's a cuter little baby in the whole world!
